Purpose-Built Watercraft for Ice and Shallow Water

Seal Craft builds purpose-built watercraft on a patent-pending 3,000-denier TPU hull rated to −96 °C. Choose the Air Boat for ice, slush and snow, or the Jet Raft for rivers and shallow water — each available in a search and rescue or recreational configuration.

Ice Rescue & Ice Fishing Airboat

THE AIR BOAT

Built for ice — not adapted for it. Most airboats sold in North America were designed for warm-water swamps and then pushed into service up north. The Seal Craft Air Boat was engineered for Canadian winter conditions from the start: it crosses pressure ridges, heaves, slush and thin ice, then keeps going into open water without stopping at the edge.

Most airboats scream past 100 dB. The 85 HP fuel-injected four-stroke keeps this one under 85 dB — quiet enough for a crew to communicate on scene, and quiet enough for lakes with noise restrictions. It also has a patent-pending ice braking system, which no other airboat on the market offers.

16 FT (4.9M) HULL

Patent-pending inflatable TPU hull rated to -96°C (-140°F) with detachable UMHDPE skid plate.

85 HP AODES ENGINE

Fuel-injected four-stroke, radiator-cooled, patent-pending reduction drive and 62 in solid carbon propeller.

~900 LB (406 KG)

Under 85 dB, 45 L (12 gal) fuel capacity, full steering console with LED light bar.

AVAILABLE IN TWO CONFIGURATIONS

Search & Rescue

SAR Ice Rescue Airboat

An ice rescue airboat for fire departments, search and rescue teams and emergency services. When conditions change fast and every minute counts, it gets a crew across thin, broken or shifting ice and into open water to reach otherwise inaccessible areas — one of the few serious ice rescue platforms available well under six figures.

Starting at

$68,700 CAD

Base configuration, trailer included. Freight, options and applicable taxes extra.

Recreational

Recreational Ice Fishing Airboat

An ice fishing airboat for anglers working big, unpredictable water — where safe ice can change in a few hours and the best bite is on the far side of a pressure ridge. Fish earlier and later in the season, run out to a remote cabin or camp, and know you’ll get back no matter the conditions.

Starting at

$55,800 CAD

Base configuration, trailer included. Freight, options and applicable taxes extra.

Swiftwater rescue raft & shallow-water jet boat

THE JET RAFT

Built for rivers, rapids and shallow water — the conditions that destroy exposed propellers and dent aluminum hulls. Outboard jet propulsion means nothing hangs below the transom to catch a rock or a submerged log, so it runs skinny water, gravel bars and debris fields that stop conventional boats.

Under 227 kg, this inflatable jet boat trailers behind almost anything and launches from an unimproved bank. Available in 14 ft with a 25 HP jet or 16 ft with a 40 HP jet.

Search & Rescue

SAR Swiftwater Rescue Raft

An inflatable swift water rescue boat for entrapment calls, flood evacuation and moving-water response. Shallow-water access and debris-field navigation where propeller-driven craft stop, at a fraction of the cost of a traditional aluminum rescue boat.

Starting at

$32,800 CAD

Base configuration, trailer included. Freight, options and applicable taxes extra.

Recreational

Recreational Jet Raft

A shallow water jet boat for anglers, hunters and outfitters who run rivers other boats can’t. Skinny water, rock gardens, gravel bars and remote backcountry access — the outboard jet keeps you moving where a prop leg would be finished, and the TPU hull shrugs off the contact that comes with it.

Starting at

$32,800 CAD

Base configuration, trailer included. Freight, options and applicable taxes extra.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Buying a seal craft in canada

The drive and the hull, and therefore the conditions. The Air Boat is air-driven — a propeller above the deck pushes it across ice, slush, snow and open water, so it’s the choice for ice rescue and winter travel. The Jet Raft uses an outboard jet, so it runs rivers, rapids, gravel bars and flooded ground with nothing below the hull to strike.

These aren’t the same boat with a different motor bolted on. Each hull is purpose-built for its drive: the Jet Raft’s hull shape is optimized for water flow to the jet intake and for movement across the surface, while the Air Boat is built around a frame engineered to carry the air-drive engine and fan assembly. What they share is the construction — the same patent-pending 3,000-denier TPU material, internal bladder system and over-inflation safety valves — and both come in search and rescue or recreational configurations.

Yes. That transition is the whole point of an airboat for ice rescue especially. Snowmobiles and side-by-sides stop at open water and conventional boats can’t operate on ice — the Air Boat moves across ice, slush, broken ice and open water without stopping at the edge, which is what lets a crew reach a victim on a floe or beyond a pressure ridge and gets ice anglers out further, longer, and safer.

Under 85 dB. Traditional airboats run past 100 dB, which means hearing protection, difficulty communicating on scene, and problems on lakes with noise restrictions. The 85 HP fuel-injected four-stroke keeps the Seal Craft below the threshold most local noise rules are written around.

Yes. The SAR configurations of both machines are built for fire departments, volunteer departments, SAR teams and emergency services. Both come in well under the six-figure cost of a traditional rescue airboat or aluminum rescue boat, which is usually what makes the capital request workable. Contact us and we’ll walk your team through specifications and configuration.

Most inflatable rescue craft use 1,200-denier PVC, which abrades and punctures under repeated contact with rock, ice and debris. Seal Craft uses a patent-pending 3,000-denier TPU, which flexes around obstacles instead of tearing on them and holds its properties to −96 °C. Against aluminum, it absorbs impact rather than denting, and it’s dramatically lighter — the Air Boat is roughly 408 kg and the Jet Raft is under 227 kg making it easier for smaller crews to deploy.

Every Seal Craft carries a three-year warranty against manufacturing defects on the craft — hull, frame and structural components. Air-drive units add a one-year warranty on the 85 HP fuel-injected engine and the patent-pending air-drive components.
